Baltimore Convention Center
1 W Pratt St, Baltimore, Maryland, United States, 21201
Baltimore Convention Center is a premier convention and exhibition hall located in downtown Baltimore, Maryland, serving as a municipal building owned and operated by the City of Baltimore. Originally opened in August 1979 with 425,000 square feet of exhibition and meeting space at a cost of 51.4 million dollars, the facility underwent a major 151 million dollar expansion completed in April 1997 that increased its total size to over 1.2 million square feet. The center features 300,000 square feet of contiguous exhibition space divisible into seven separate halls, a 36,672 square foot multifunctional ballroom divisible into four sections, and approximately 85,000 square feet of meeting space including 50 meeting rooms that can accommodate between 85 and 1,600 people. The facility hosts more than 140 events annually, serving diverse industries including trade shows, conventions, meetings, consumer shows, and professional conferences. Key facilities include exhibition halls with 30-foot ceiling heights, 26 covered loading docks, prefunction spaces, an outdoor Camden Terrace, and access to the Skywalk connecting to the Inner Harbor and nearby hotels. The center is strategically positioned within walking distance of Baltimore's Inner Harbor, Oriole Park at Camden Yards, and is directly connected to the 752-room Hilton Baltimore hotel via an enclosed skywalk bridge. Located at the intersection of major transportation hubs, the venue provides easy access from Interstate 95, Baltimore Washington International Airport, and Baltimore Penn Station, making it a vital economic engine for the city and region.
