The 20th edition of the European Congress on Biotechnology (ECB2026) will be held in Antwerp with the overarching theme 'Shaping tomorrow: Biotechnology for Health, Food, Energy, Environment'. Organized by the European Federation of Biotechnology in collaboration with the Flemish Institute for Biotechnology (VIB) and the Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB), the congress brings together leading scientists, industry professionals, and policymakers. The scientific programme features daily plenary lectures and four parallel streams of symposia, a trade exhibition, and dedicated sponsor presentations. The event emphasizes supporting early career researchers with opportunities for oral presentations, flash talks, and posters, while promoting engagement with biotechnology companies. Congress participants can submit work for publication in a special issue of the EFB journal, New Biotechnology.
