North Carolina State Fairgrounds
4285 Trinity Rd, Raleigh, Mississippi, United States, 27607
North Carolina State Fairgrounds is a premier exhibition and event venue located in Raleigh, North Carolina, serving as the state's largest and most versatile event facility since 1853. The fairgrounds spans over 344 acres and features 400,000 square feet of building space available for rent, making it one of the most comprehensive event venues in the Southeast. The facility hosts over 500 events annually, ranging from trade shows and conventions to cultural festivals, concerts, and agricultural exhibitions. The venue includes multiple exhibition halls such as the 100,000 square foot Jim Graham Building, the 50,000 square foot Agri-Supply Exposition Center, the iconic J.S. Dorton Arena with 7,610 seats, and the historic Commercial and Education Buildings dating from 1928. The fairgrounds serves diverse industries including agriculture, manufacturing, consumer goods, automotive, home improvement, and entertainment. Key facilities include 14 meeting rooms with theater capacities ranging from 1,500 to 16,333 people, extensive parking for thousands of vehicles, full-service RV campground with 350 sites, and the James B. Hunt Horse Complex spanning 30 acres. The venue's strategic location provides convenient access from major interstates I-40, I-440, and I-540, making it easily accessible for exhibitors and attendees throughout North Carolina and the Southeast region. The fairgrounds is managed by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and operates as a self-supporting facility, reinvesting profits into continuous improvements and expansions.
