India Alloy Steel and Special Summit 2026

India's alloy steel sector stands at a defining inflection point. With demand projected to grow at 6–8% annually through 2030 - nearly four times the global average of 1.7% - the industry is entering a decade of transformation that will reshape India's industrial capacity and global competitiveness. 

India already accounts for roughly 7–8% of global alloy steel production, and demand is forecast to reach 10.6 million tonnes by 2030. Underpinning this growth is a structural shift in end-use: automotive accounts for about 53% of consumption today, but non-automotive demand - infrastructure, defence, energy, railways, and capital equipment - is accelerating fast and set to rebalance the mix over the coming years. 

The opportunity carries clear imperatives. India must raise production quality to global standards, reduce its dependence on imports (currently 1.27 million tonnes of alloy steel and components every year), build resilient raw-material and supply chains, and accelerate the shift toward green, sustainable steelmaking. 

The India Alloy Steel and Special Steel Summit 2026 convenes alloy steel producers, raw-material suppliers, end-user industries, technology providers, policymakers, and financial stakeholders to shape the roadmap for this growth and to position India as a global leader in high-quality, sustainable alloy steel through 2030 and beyond.
