International Book Fair

The International Book Fair in Krakow is a cyclical event dedicated to the publishing and bookselling industry, organized since 1997. As part of a program to promote reading, the event is open to the general public and has become a major characteristic of the city. Exhibitors include Polish and foreign publishing houses, book warehouses, bookstores, cultural institutions, associations related to the book market, digital media distributors, printing companies, and paper manufacturers. The fair serves as an area for promotion of good books, a place for meetings, exchange of ideas, and discussions. In 2013, Krakow was honored with the prestigious UNESCO City of Literature title, making it an ideal place to host this international publishing event. The fair establishes the image of Krakow and Malopolska as a region that has set trends in Polish culture for centuries, influenced reading tastes, and created literary fashions. The event includes workshops, panels, author meetings, and the international competition 'The Best Publications on the Subject of Mountains'.
