Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex

Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex

2100 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd N, Birmingham, England, United Kingdom, 35203

Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex has been Birmingham's premier entertainment destination for more than 50 years, serving as one of the Southeast's most versatile, user-friendly and technologically advanced convention facilities. Located in the heart of Birmingham's Uptown Entertainment District, the BJCC was originally built between 1974 and 1976 for approximately $104 million and was designed by Geddes Brecher Qualls Cunningham, the winner of the largest open architectural competition ever organized by the American Institute of Architects at that time. The complex offers over 420,000 square feet of flexible meeting space including 220,000 square feet of exhibition halls, 88 breakout rooms, and 18 unique venues all in one walkable location. The facility features four major entertainment venues: the 47,100-seat Protective Stadium which opened in 2021 as home to UAB Blazers football and the United Football League, the 17,654-seat Legacy Arena that hosts sporting events and concerts, the 2,835-seat BJCC Concert Hall with its 105-foot grid height making it the tallest building in the complex, and the 1,000-seat BJCC Theatre which serves as home to the Birmingham Children's Theatre. The complex includes 64 meeting rooms totaling 100,000 square feet of meeting space, a 16,000-square-foot ballroom that seats up to 1,200 for banquets, and the ten-story Medical Forum with specialized conference facilities. Adjacent to the convention center are the Sheraton Birmingham and Westin Birmingham hotels providing 682 guest rooms on campus. The BJCC serves as Birmingham's cultural and entertainment center hosting world-class sporting events, concerts, Broadway shows, conventions, trade shows, galas, educational seminars, and cultural events on a daily basis, making it Alabama's largest convention address and the state's foremost convention, meeting, and event space.
