Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre (SZCEC), popularly known as the Futian Convention Centre, is one of China's most iconic and strategically important exhibition venues. Located in the Futian Central Business District, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, the building was designed by the renowned German architectural firm Gerkan, Marg and Partners and completed in 2004 at a cost of CNY 3.2 billion. Built by the Shenzhen municipal government, the structure spans 280,000 square meters of total area, measuring 540 meters east to west and 282 meters north to south, rising to a maximum height of 60 meters. The glass dome and steel structure create the iconic 'Crystal Palace' appearance. The complex features nine large exhibition halls on the first floor in a U-shaped configuration, providing 105,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space accommodating up to 5,000 international standard booths, and 35 conference rooms in a suspended conference center. Since its opening, the center has hosted nearly 300 exhibitions and over 1,350 conferences. Major events include the China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF), China International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), and international meetings such as FDI and the ASEM Prosecutors-General Conference. The venue is accessible via Shenzhen Metro Lines 1, 4, and 11, and offers 2,138 parking spaces.
