Mediterranean Film Festival

Mediterranean Film Festival Split takes place annually in June in the city of Split, the second largest city in Croatia. During 10 days, the Festival presents a showcase of best European and world film productions, it organizes lectures, workshops, exhibitions and other side events. Festival's focus are feature and short fiction and documentary films from Mediterranean countries. Besides feature films, great attention is dedicated to the program of short films and the promotion of young authors and their work. In 18 years of its existence, the Festival has become the most visited cultural event in the city of Split and one of the most popular manifestations in Croatia. Stunning Festival venues include Bacvice Open Air Cinema located in a pine wood next to the sea, Gripe Fortress and Cinematheque Zlatna vrata situated inside the walls of 1700 years old Diocletian palace in the heart of Split, surely making it one of the most unique film festivals worldwide.
