Thalia Theatre is a historic theatre in Paramaribo, Suriname, opened on January 20, 1840. Built by architect Johan August Voigt with a capacity of 700 seats, it is one of the oldest cultural venues in the country. The Thalia Theatre Company was founded on April 27, 1837. The theatre hosts plays, concerts, cultural events, and congresses, and has played a significant role in Suriname's cultural life for nearly two centuries.
