About China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA)
China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA) is China's first and largest non-profit, member-based organization dedicated to the development and promotion of the energy storage industry. Founded in March 2010 and headquartered in Beijing, CNESA was approved as a first-level social organization by the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau in December 2012 and has been rated a 5A-level social organization for multiple consecutive years. The alliance serves over 800 Chinese and international members drawn from energy storage manufacturers, power producers, investors, and new energy developers. CNESA organizes China's most authoritative annual energy storage conference and exhibition — the Energy Storage International Conference and Expo (ESIE) — which in 2025 attracted over 200,000 attendees, 1,000+ exhibitors, and 400+ speakers. The organization publishes annual white papers, maintains the Global Energy Storage Database, conducts policy research, and advances international standards to ensure safety, quality, and interoperability across all storage technologies including lithium-ion, flow batteries, compressed air, and hydrogen storage.
