International Cheese & Dairy Awards
About International Cheese & Dairy Awards
The International Cheese & Dairy Awards (ICDA), operated by ICDA Awards Ltd and registered in Whitchurch, England, bills itself as the world's leading cheese and dairy competition and the oldest cheese and dairy show in the world, with a history dating back to 1897. Held annually at the Staffordshire County Showground's Bingley Hall in Stafford, the awards attract more than 4,500 product entries and more than 5,500 cheeses from over 30 countries, judged through blind panels of around 250 technical specialists, graders, cheesemakers, retailers, and buyers who assess flavour, texture, aroma, presentation, and technical merit without brand influence. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded across classes spanning traditional farmhouse cheeses, bandaged and territorial Cheddars, international speciality styles, functional dairy products, butter, cream, yoghurt, milk, and ice cream, alongside categories for packaging design, export achievement, and new product development. Held in conjunction with the co-located International Cheese & Dairy EXPO, the UK's premier business event for the cheese and dairy industry, the awards and expo together bring together more than 200 exhibitors and over 2,500 delegates from across retail, wholesale, foodservice, manufacturing, and hospitality sectors under the unifying theme of Dairy CONNECT.
