About Ministry of Commerce PRC
Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) is the central government authority responsible for formulating and implementing policies on domestic and foreign trade, international economic cooperation, and market regulation. Headquartered in Beijing, MOFCOM plays a central role in organizing and supervising China's major international trade exhibitions, including the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), the China International Import Expo (CIIE), and the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). The Ministry overseas the exhibition activities of Chinese enterprises globally, manages foreign direct investment policies, and promotes bilateral and multilateral trade agreements. MOFCOM also co-organizes numerous sector-specific fairs in industries such as electronics, machinery, agriculture, consumer goods, and services, making it one of the most influential institutional organizers in China's trade fair ecosystem. It maintains oversight of China's commercial attaché network across more than 100 countries and serves as the host body for the world's largest trade fair, the Canton Fair, held biannually in Guangzhou.
