About Pyongyang International Film Festival Committee
The Pyongyang International Film Festival Committee is the official organizing body of the Pyongyang International Film Festival (PIFF), one of Asia's oldest international film festivals, held biennially in the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) since 1987. The festival screens feature films, documentaries, and short films from participating countries, promoting cultural exchange and international understanding through cinema. Organized under the auspices of the Korean Film Export and Import Corporation, the festival follows themes of peace, friendship, and social progress, and has featured films from dozens of countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America over its history.
