To start the shift from dialogue to implementation, the conference saw partnership agreements between UNIDO and Dii Desert Energy and Women in Green Hydrogen, aligning around practical pathways to scale investment, build markets, and strengthen international coordination. The event also underscored the critical role of international public finance in enabling hydrogen deployment in emerging markets and developing economies. As a funding partner supporting UNIDO’s Global Clean Hydrogen Program, the GEF is helping to build the policy, technical and institutional foundations required for scale. As noted by Claude Gascon, Interim CEO and Chairperson of the GEF: “The GEF-funded Global Clean Hydrogen Program supports the development of policy frameworks and technical readiness for green hydrogen production and use. It responds to countries’ ambition to promote high-impact applications where hydrogen offers clear advantages and where other low-carbon options are not viable. With $15 million in GEF funding and $168 million in co-financing, the program is expected to deliver global environment benefits in the form of 15 million tons of CO₂ emission
