Xiamen Municipal Government

Xiamen Municipal Government is the principal administrative body of Xiamen, a coastal city in Fujian Province, southeastern China, and a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) established in 1980. The Xiamen Municipal Government plays an active role in organizing and co-hosting major international exhibitions and trade fairs held in the city, particularly the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), the world's largest investment and trade promotion fair held annually in Xiamen since 1997, and co-organized with the Ministry of Commerce and other provincial authorities. The government also supports the Xiamen International Stone Fair, one of the world's largest stone industry trade shows, and various other international expos covering sectors including optoelectronics, maritime shipping, software, and high-tech industries. Xiamen is a major port city and a key location for China-Taiwan economic exchange, and its exhibition industry serves an important role in promoting foreign direct investment and international business cooperation for the city's vibrant export-oriented economy.
