Shree Shree Ma Kankaleshwari Temple is located in Bardhaman, West Bengal. The temple is aslo famous as Kankal Bari temple. The temple is dedicated to Ma Kankaleshwari, a fierce manifestation of Goddess Kali or Chamunda, depicted in a striking skeleton-like black basalt idol. The goddess Kankaleshwari is eight-armed, seated on a lotus emerging from Shiva’s navel, with the supine form of Shiva carved beneath. This emphasises her power over creation and destruction. Major celebrations include Kali Puja, Kartik Amavasya, Durga Puja, and the annual Bhadra fair in August–September.
