The 16th Pan African Scrabble Championship 2026 brings together players from 30 African nations for a week-long tournament at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Monrovia. This prestigious continental championship showcases Liberia's growing commitment to Scrabble as a sport of strategy and education. The event follows Liberia's successful hosting of recent national events including the April 2025 National Scrabble Championship in Kakata and 'Scrabble Mania 2.0' international tournament. Liberia's national team earned a silver medal at the 2024 All-Africa Games in Accra, Ghana, finishing second to Uganda. The championship represents a significant milestone for Liberia's integration into the expanded African Scrabble ecosystem and will cement the country's growing reputation in the African Scrabble community.
