About American Craft Spirits Association
American Craft Spirits Association is the only registered national nonprofit trade group representing the U.S. craft spirits industry. Founded in 2013, ACSA has grown to become the authoritative voice for independent craft distillers across the United States. The organization serves as a community hub for craft distillers, offering comprehensive resources including education, competitions, and events tailored specifically for members. ACSA operates with a mission to elevate and advocate for the community of craft spirits producers, working to improve market access, reduce regulatory barriers, and support the growth of small distilleries. The association is member-owned and democratically governed by a 15-member Board of Directors elected by voting members. ACSA organizes the annual American Craft Spirits Convention & Expo, which has become the premier gathering of craft spirits professionals in North America, bringing together distillers, suppliers, and industry partners. The organization also conducts the American Craft Spirits Competition, publishes CRAFT SPIRITS magazine, and produces the annual Craft Spirits Data Project in partnership with Park Street. ACSA has been instrumental in securing federal excise tax reductions, advancing direct-to-consumer shipping legislation, and providing economic relief programs for distilleries during challenging times. The association represents over 3,000 independent craft distilleries and maintains strict membership criteria requiring distillers to produce fewer than 750,000 proof gallons annually and maintain transparency in their distilling practices.
