About American Water Works Association (AWWA)
American Water Works Association (AWWA), founded in 1881 at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, is headquartered in Denver, Colorado. AWWA is the largest nonprofit scientific and educational association dedicated to managing and treating water. With approximately 50,000 members representing more than 4,300 utilities that supply roughly 80 percent of North America's drinking water, AWWA provides solutions to improve public health, protect the environment, and enhance quality of life. The association develops approximately 197 ANSI-accredited standards, publishes Journal AWWA and Opflow, and hosts the Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE) along with specialty conferences across North America.
