Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA)
About Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA)
The Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) is a UK trade association established in September 2009 to represent the anaerobic digestion (AD) and bioresources industry and support the development of a safe, high-performing sector. It was founded by Lord Redesdale together with ten founder member companies, and today represents more than 300 member organisations spanning AD plant operators and developers, equipment suppliers, finance specialists, farmers, academic institutions, waste management companies and gas distribution networks. ADBA's core activities include lobbying government and meeting with policymakers, running industry working groups and high-profile events, and producing educational and training material, including its Learning & Development workshops. The association also operates the Anaerobic Digestion Certification Scheme (ADCS), which uniquely assesses the safety, environmental and operational performance of AD plants in the UK. ADBA's stated aim is to help the UK meet its renewable energy and waste-reduction targets by growing the anaerobic digestion industry.
