Asociación de Gremios Productores Agrarios del Perú (AGAP)

The Asociación de Gremios Productores Agrarios del Perú (AGAP) is a private, non-profit trade association that brings together the main agricultural producer guilds and agro-export companies of Peru. AGAP represents the interests of Peruvian agricultural producers, processors, marketers and exporters, and works to strengthen their competitiveness, open new export markets, and improve the legal and regulatory framework governing agricultural production and trade. The association supports Peru's international trade negotiations to expand market access while seeking to avoid harm to domestic producers, and it represents the national agricultural sector before public and private institutions both in Peru and abroad. AGAP also promotes the adoption of good agricultural and processing practices, along with social responsibility and sustainability programmes among agricultural companies.
