About Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators (ABTO)
The Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators (ABTO) is the principal trade association representing licensed tour operators in Bhutan. Based in Thimphu, ABTO advocates for the interests of its members, promotes responsible and sustainable tourism in line with Bhutan's Gross National Happiness philosophy, and serves as the liaison between the tourism industry and the government. The Association organizes industry events and training programs, supports the development of Bhutan's high-value, low-impact tourism model, and promotes Bhutan as a unique and exclusive global tourism destination.
