About Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International
The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International, founded in 1907 as the National Association of Building Owners and Managers and adopting its present name in 1968, is a federation of U.S. local associations and global affiliates headquartered in Washington, D.C. As the leading trade association for commercial real estate professionals for more than a century, BOMA International represents the owners, managers, service providers, and other property professionals across all commercial building types, including office, industrial, medical, corporate, and mixed-use properties. The association comprises a federation of more than 90 local BOMA associations across the United States, BOMA Canada and its regional associations, and 13 international affiliates in countries including Australia, Brazil, Finland, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, and South Africa, with members owning or managing more than nine billion square feet of commercial property. BOMA International hosts the annual BOMA International Conference, the North American Real Estate Congress, and The Office Building Show, alongside seminars on topics including office marketing and leasing, asset management, technology, and emergency preparedness planning. The association presents The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) and Earth Awards, among the most prestigious recognitions in the commercial real estate industry, and maintains the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI), a separate credentialing body based in Annapolis, Maryland.
