Colorado Automobile Dealers Association

Colorado Automobile Dealers Association (CADA) is the voice of the automotive retail industry throughout the state of Colorado, representing 260 dealers ranging from small, family-owned dealerships to nationally owned multiple-franchise corporations. Founded in 1933 by a small number of Colorado dealers organizing to protest a federal excise tax that would raise the price of vehicles to their customers, CADA was incorporated five years later in 1938. As the automobile dealer trade association, CADA advocates on issues of importance to the auto industry in general, Colorado auto dealers in particular, and Colorado's driving public. The association provides its members access to a wide range of industry services and resources, including educational programs, networking opportunities, and timely industry information and data to help them stay up-to-date on important industry trends and topics. CADA is governed by a Board of Directors with dealers broken down into 8 districts that align with Colorado's US Congressional Districts. The association operates with a Chief Executive Officer/President and Chief Operating Officer who are responsible for daily operations and direct nine staff members at CADA headquarters in Denver. CADA runs the third oldest auto show in the United States - the Colorado Auto Show (formerly Denver Auto Show) which started in 1902, making it older than all but the New York Auto Show (1900) and Chicago Auto Show (1901). The association also operates CADA Insurance Services, a for-profit venture providing services like employee benefits, bonds, and forms to members.
