Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) is the preeminent cruise trade association and the world's largest cruise industry trade association, providing a unified voice for the industry and its members as the leading authority of the global cruise community. Established in 1975, CLIA represents a diverse and influential cruise industry, including ocean, river, and specialty cruise lines, maritime leaders, ports, destinations, shipyards, and travel professionals. The organization merged with the International Council of Cruise Lines (ICCL) in 2006, forming an expanded organization that incorporates the functions of both organizations. CLIA represents oceangoing member lines which comprise more than 95% of global cruise passenger capacity, including the world's most prestigious ocean, river, and specialty cruise lines, as well as a business community of leading ports, destinations, shipyards and maritime product and service providers, and the largest network of travel professionals who specialize in cruise travel. As the leading trade association, CLIA advocates for safe, sustainable cruise operations, supports tourism strategies that benefit communities, and promotes innovation toward net-zero emissions by 2050. The organization organizes premier events and initiatives including trade engagements, summits, policy roundtables, professional development programs, and the flagship Cruise360 conference which is the largest and only official conference of the cruise industry.
