IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S)

IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society (MTT-S) is a transnational professional society with more than 14,000 members and over 350 chapters worldwide, established in 1952 as the Professional Group on Microwave Theory and Techniques under the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE). The society promotes the advancement of microwave theory and its applications, including RF, microwave, millimeter-wave, and terahertz technologies. For more than 70 years, MTT-S has worked to advance the professional standing of its members and enhance the quality of life for all people through the development and application of microwave technology. The society organizes the premier IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS), which is the world's largest RF/microwave technical conference and industry exhibition with over 620 companies participating. MTT-S technically and financially sponsors and co-sponsors many conferences in microwave and wireless technologies globally, serving as the global focus for the promotion of the RF and microwave engineering profession by advancing and distributing knowledge and supporting professional development. The society publishes the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, IEEE Microwave Magazine, and other technical publications, while maintaining technical committees focused on areas including microwave and millimeter-wave materials, solid state devices and integrated circuits, filters, passive components and packaging, microwave acoustics and photonics, high power and low noise techniques, frequency conversion, field theory, and computer aided design and measurements.
