About Loudoun County Public Schools
Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS), headquartered in Ashburn, Virginia, is the third-largest school division in Virginia, operating more than 100 schools serving tens of thousands of students across the county. The district offers a broad range of educational pathways, including its main elementary, middle, and high schools alongside specialized programs such as the Academies of Loudoun, the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology partnership, the International Baccalaureate program, Dual Language Immersion, the Health and Medical Sciences Academy, the Academy of Science, and Navy Junior ROTC. LCPS also operates Virtual Loudoun and Virtual Distance Learning programs to provide flexible online education options, along with the Historic Douglass High School and an Alternative Education Program supporting students with diverse learning needs. The district has been recognized for strong academic outcomes, including an on-time graduation rate notably above the Virginia state average, with the large majority of LCPS graduates historically pursuing higher education. The district is led by Superintendent Aaron Spence, Ed.D., and is governed by an elected School Board overseeing its mission to empower all students to make meaningful contributions to the world.
