Platform Engineering Community

Platform Engineering, the global home of the platform engineering community, was born out of a series of Meetup events in Berlin, Germany and Austin, Texas, growing into what it describes as the largest dedicated platform engineering community in the world, with more than 25,000 members across its Slack channel. The community originated from efforts to democratize access to Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs), beginning with the launch of Humanitec and the creation of internaldeveloperplatform.org as a framework to help define and explain the emerging field of platform engineering. The organization runs PlatformCon, described as the largest platform engineering gathering of the year, drawing more than 50,000 practitioners worldwide for free virtual participation alongside Live Days held in cities such as London, New York, and Paris. Platform Engineering also operates more than 30 local Platform Engineers Meetup groups around the globe, produces a YouTube channel and a community newsletter called Platform Weekly, and runs an Ambassador Program featuring industry leaders who support organizations and the broader community in adopting platform engineering practices and Internal Developer Platforms.
