SEMI is the global industry association serving the electronics manufacturing and design supply chain, founded in 1970 as Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International. Originally established by 55 companies in Palo Alto to create dedicated platforms for semiconductor production equipment vendors, SEMI has evolved into a comprehensive organization representing over 3,000 member companies and 1.5 million professionals worldwide. The association organizes and produces nearly 100 technology showcases, trade shows, conferences and special events per year across all major manufacturing regions including China, Japan, Germany, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, North America, and Europe. SEMI's flagship events include the renowned SEMICON series held globally, with SEMICON West being North America's premier microelectronics event.
