About United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is the UN body responsible for dealing with development issues, particularly international trade. Founded in 1964 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, UNCTAD promotes the development-friendly integration of developing countries into the world economy. The organization conducts research, provides technical assistance, and facilitates intergovernmental deliberations on trade, investment, and development. UNCTAD organizes the Ministerial Conference (UNCTAD) every four years and numerous international conferences and expert meetings throughout the year.
