The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is the UN agency for human settlements and sustainable urban development. Established in 1978 and headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, UN-Habitat promotes socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities by providing technical assistance, policy guidance, and knowledge management.
