About U.S. Travel Association
U.S. Travel Association is the national, non-profit organization representing all components of the U.S. travel industry, serving as a key contributor to America's economic success since its founding in 1941. Originally established as the National Association of Travel Officials (NATO) during World War II to advocate for the travel industry during challenging times, the organization has evolved through several name changes including the Travel Industry Association of America (TIA) in 1980, before becoming the U.S. Travel Association in 2009 following a merger with the Travel Business Roundtable. The association represents the collective strength of more than 1,000 member organizations across the $2.9 trillion U.S. travel industry, including airlines, hotels, destinations, tour operators, and related travel businesses. U.S. Travel's mission is to increase travel to and within the United States, thereby fueling the nation's economy and future growth. The organization serves as the leading voice for the travel industry, championing policies that strengthen all travel segments, providing expert insights, and uniting diverse organizations to address industry challenges. U.S. Travel organizes major industry events including IPW, the world's leading inbound travel trade show that drives $5.7 billion in future travel to the U.S., as well as ESTO (Educational Seminar for Tourism Organizations), the Future of Travel Mobility conference, and various advocacy events. The association operates from its headquarters in Washington, D.C., where it maintains a strong presence on Capitol Hill to advocate for pro-travel policies that expand mobility, enhance security, and power economic growth. Under the leadership of President and CEO Geoff Freeman, U.S. Travel continues to establish travel as essential and responsible, advance seamless and secure travel, shape solutions to operational challenges, and build a strong business environment for the entire travel ecosystem.
