The World Organization of Family Doctors (Wonca) is the global representative organization for family medicine and general practice, founded in 1972. Based in Brussels, Belgium, Wonca represents more than 500,000 family physicians and general practitioners in over 130 countries through its member organizations. Wonca promotes high standards of care in family medicine, advocates for the role of family doctors in healthcare systems worldwide, and organizes the World Family Doctors Day and the Wonca World Conference, the largest gathering of family medicine practitioners globally.
